July 4th Boat Parade

July 4, 2004 035

Black Oak’s Independence Day Boat Parade started in 1976.  The numbers of participating boats has varied from as few as five to as many as 22. This year the Land O’ Lakes Town Parade and the Fireworks displays have been cancelled. So, you can put all your creativity into our Boat Parade. As always we will not have a particular theme but it is easy to guess what timely issue might be appropriate this year!

Remember that we start from the Public beach at 4 pm on July 4. To be judged, you must fly an American flag on your boat and complete the whole lake circle which takes just under an hour.

A Plaque and a Trophy are awarded each year. For many more pictures see the Boat Parade photos on our website here.
