Logins/Roles

  • I forgot my username/password, or I never received one.
    • You should have received an email on 5/7/2012 stating your username and password. If you forgot your username or password or you never received one, email Walt Bates at waterbirds@aol.com and he will send it to you.

  • How do I change my username?
    • Email Walt Bates, and he will contact the web developers who can change your username.

  • How do I change my password?
    • Login to the site with your current password (click on Login on the top right of the screen). Then click on your username on the top right of the screen. Click Account info. Then enter your current password, and your new password twice. Then click Change Password.

  • Why do I have to share a username with my spouse and kids?
    • Each nuclear family (that lives together all year round) needs to share a login to prevent duplicate addresses in the directory. Also that way if you move, you only need to change your address in one place.

  • I need to add a new family to my property, and get them a new login to use.
    • Email Walt Bates, and he will contact the web developers who can add the new family and create a username for them.

  • Who has permission to change my property information?
    • Every person who is listed as a Property Resident has access to change the property information initially. If you would like to have this changed, and only allow one resident to change the property info, then send an email to Walt Bates and he will contact the web developers to change the permissions.

Inspection Calendar

  • How do I use the Inspection Calendar?
    • Go to the Residents and Visitors tab, click on Inspection Calendar on the left. Shifts that are available have a button next to them that says Sign Up. Click Sign Up next to a time shift you would like to work. The shifts are in hour-long increments so if you want to work a 3 hour shift, you have to sign up for each hour-long shift individually. Make sure to add at least your first name and last initial in the description field. You do not need to login to use the Inspection Calendar. If you need to cancel a shift, please email Walt Bates. Ability to cancel shifts will be added in a later enhancement to the website.

To change the other photos (the bottom 5 that appear after your property history), click Add/Change Other Photos. Search for the photos on your computer, then click Upload. If you have trouble uploading photos, you can send them to Walt Bates at waterbirds@aol.com. Please specify which photo should be the main photo. Also, once you reach the limit of 6 photos, you will have to delete a photo in order to add a new one. To do this, click Delete This Photo next to the photo you want to delete. After deleting one of the photos, you should see the Add/Change Other Photos link.

  • What does Summer Mail Delivery mean?
    • Summer Mail Delivery tells us whether you want to receive mail at your lake address. If set to No, you will receive all lake-related snail mail at your winter address all year round. So for example, if you are only at the lake one week a year, you probably want to select No. But if you are there all year round, it should be Yes. Of course, if you have snail mail forwarded it won't matter.

  • My spouse and I have different last names. What do we enter under Last Name?
    • Last Name and First Name are only used for sorting in the printed directory. On the website, the only thing that will display is your display name, which can be anything you like. So for example, if you and your spouse are Jane Jones and John Smith, your Display Name can be "Jane Jones and John Smith". For your last name, decide whether you want to be sorted under the J's or the S's in the printed directory, and then enter the corresponding last name. If that is not acceptable to you, we can give you separate logins and accounts, and then you will appear separately in the printed directory. Just let us know what you prefer.
